DAY 6 - Single and Happy

It's more like single and elated, y'all. Single and grateful. Single and kicking ass. Single and living her dream life. I'm thankful for the chance of being single again. After being in one long turbulent relationship. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm all for relationships. Committed romantic relationships that culminate into marriage. Two God-loving, reasonable, people that love and value each other, working hand in glove to build the life of their dreams. I'm all for it. But you see all these random things people do these days... Two coconut heads that don't know their left from their right, or one good head going for a coconut head in the name of "I love him/She will change", that, sisturr , is suicide. And I don't got a death wish. So till proper love finds me, I'm gonna be sooo busy enjoying and making the best of my single season. 😎😎😎 Kicking ass. Making boss lady moves. Glowing up, every chance I got.  'Cos who's to say otherw...

DAY 5 - Your Parents

My parents are lucky to have each other. That's the best I'll say. They were not this romantic kinda couple that were obviously in love, but they got along pretty well. They argued sometimes, till I got heartsick, but they were back on the same team before anyone realized. My parents have their faults, as everyone else does, but I think their weaknesses kinda suited themselves. Somehow. My mom was a really smart woman. My dad is intelligent. I lost my mom almost 6 months ago, and while I wasn't her favorite child by any means, I realize she is a role model in more ways than one. I mean, we always had all of this head-to head lock-ins because I didn't like my rights trampled on all the time, and she needed me to know she was the boss lady around the house and all. Just kidding. We just had a lot of misunderstandings because we were too very different people, my mom and I.  She probably couldn't understand how a child of hers could be so non-conforming, different, an...

DAY 4 - Places you want to visit

Writing about this is really helpful to me right now...because I get to escape from my immediate reality of handling two huge rejections this month. So, talking about places I'd love to visit... The Bahamas. The Maldives. Chile. Paris. Turkey. Madagascar. Somewhere smooth, exotic and chic. Like Fiji. Somewhere chaotic, overpopulated, and rich in culture. Like Lagos. South Africa. Canada. (I actually kinda wanna live here. Or Maybe the Netherlands.) I'm really not the visiting, traveling, touring kinda person, so I'll keep the list short. But deep down inside this beautiful heart of mine, I just wanna see the world.

DAY 3 - A memory

Third day going and I almost forgot. 😁😁😁 Talking about memories, I have lots of them. Everyone does really. Good memories. Bad memories. The in-betweens. I'm just gonna pull a quick draft and narrate whatever "shareable" memory that comes to mind. (Some things are better left unsaid. Sorry. 😌) So, this one it is. It was a day of the week. Can't remember which one in particular. I was visiting home from school. It was quite late in the evening, and my school was about four hours away from where my parents lived. (Boy did they hate night travels and all.) Now, I really don't like being pressured, you know, especially when I was already tensed up about being on the road very late, and that was exactly what my parents' calling every other 15 minutes to check up on me was going to do. (Phew! That was a long sentence right there. But I'm not about to revise it.) So, I considered it was best for my mental health that I turn my phone off or put it on airplane ...

DAY 1 - Describe your personality.

I rarely talk about myself.  Not because people don't ask. Because sometime I get overwhelmed trying to talk about Cynthia. I can be very chatty, especially with strangers, but most of the time I direct the conversation to the other parties involved. And when they insist I talk about me, I usually say: "I'm just Cynthia. There's nothing special about me." Na lie. I'm one of the most phenomenal women you'll ever meet. It's difficult to describe me at one time because of my ever-dynamic self. I could be wearing this hat today, and tomorrow I decide I want a beret. I too sabi book.  I'm a rapid learner and I read too much. That's how I get in trouble most times.  Tech sis here, I'm currently a UI/UX Designer with coding chops, freelance publication graphic designer, and a blockchain enthusiast.  I love ❤️ Tech.  Resilience and adaptation are my two major life assets,  and my general attitude to life is: "Imma figure this out." And I d...

Writing Challenges?

So, I'm trying to get my writing chops back, and I figured I'd just jump on some writing challenges. I'd probably be doing this all year. All year, because introspection is hard, and I like hard stuff. Probably, because I can be very consistent at being inconsistent. But that's the whole point of doing this on this blog...right here. I figure it might help me want to show up everyday. Who knows? 🀷🏽🀷🏽 I'd like to find out, though. This is the writing challenge right here for the month of MayπŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸ‘‡πŸ½ And I'm committing to being as plain, short and sweet as possible. As most stuff in life aren't. TschΓΌss.
